In front of the camera
First, a note to those who know me. Yes, this is me, the “Face” of our Wunderman Thompson transition to an Open Office space. And yes, I did then and do now maintain that “offices” are often some of the worst places to get focused, accurate work done. But with the choice already made, I joined the effort to help shift attitudes from apprehension to excitement…and a little self-deprecating humor.
Behind the camera (mostly)
My partner and I were placed in charge of shooting a concept for our Georgetown office’s submission for our yearly Wunderman Day video-fest. With just a few hours to go before the deadline, we knew we didn’t have much time so we took some inspiration from The Office TV series and staged an office-wide lip-reading of a Hall & Oates music video. A few hours later, we had this.
We may not have “won” Wunderman Day that year. Instead, we gained something more important: life-long friendships, and the ability to say we’ve starred in a music video with a human-sized whoopie cushion.
Behind the mic
Pitching Blue Cross Blue Shield of Idaho was a treat. They wanted something eye-grabbing and we had some room to push the envelope. BCBSI’s forte? Excellent, we’ll-come-get-you-with-a-helicopter customer service.
The concept: No one has high hopes for great service when calling a customer service number. We get it. And we’re sick of it, too. Each extension of the campaign allows the client to demonstrate how going All Blue cuts the Bull out of dealing with health insurance.
